The old adage "beggars shouldn't be choosey" comes to mind . . .

Elkdog has got it right. I'm glad to have the options at our fingertips. Sure beats looking at passed -around dog-eared lists and waiting for tapes to arrive in the mail, hoping that what you traded for is what you were hoping for - a lot of mystery, time and trust went into every tape acquisition. All arguments of analog vs. digital aside, this site is like finding the end of the rainbow, with its ever-expanding and updated pot of gold.

Case in point, the recent addition of the Charlie Miller '76 AUD upgrades and previously unavailable SBDs added an additional one or two more choices to some dates, but having the opportunity to listen to the previously unavailable pristine SBD of 6/28/76 over either of the other two dogbreath audience tapes that have been circulating for decades was a joy rather than a hassle. I'm not knockin' the audience tapes here, I'm just saying that various folks are seeking different choices, be they, AUDs, SBDs or Matrices - and to be able to choose to your liking from 'what is out there' is a far better option than, say, someone choosing what you and the others should listen to - without discussion.

What you appear to be asking for is some kind of policing or 'filtering' of these public archives, which to me smacks of some level of some kind of one-sided preferences, which in turn, in effect, can be viewed as a form of censorship . . . 'from now on, the archive will only make available SBDs and Matrices and Auds will be removed 'to reduce the clutter' . . . and from now on, you will only have the new 'revised' Huckleberry Finn' to read as your only choice. . . . Extreme example I know, but archives are intended to be depositories for all pertinent artifacts, it is up to the person who peruses the collection to take the time to choose between the available objects/options to find the item that best suits their needs. Enjoy your finds!

Or even,
On Etree,
over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a show that I heard of
Once, 'twas a lullaby. (apologies to Arlen, Harberg, & Garland).
